Aim and Objective of event:

Students come with diverse thoughts, backgrounds and preparations. It is important to assist them to adjust in the new environment and inculcate in them the ethos of the department with a sense of larger purpose. Its purpose is to make the students feel comfortable in their new environment, set a healthy daily routine, create bonding in the batch as well as between faculty, develop awareness, sensitivity and understanding of the self, society at large, and nature.

The inauguration was done by Dr. Lalit Patil, Member of BOS-IT and Dr. M. G. Chaskar, Dean Faculty of Science and Technology, SPPU followed by a panel discussion. The panel consisted of the BOS members of IT, SPPU, Faculty from all colleges of SPPU, Pune were invited to present their experience about 2019 syllabus execution and the teaching learning practices adopted in their department to strengthen the effective execution of the curriculum.

The Objective of this FOP is to enrich faculty members with preliminaries of Information Storage and Retrieval and its applications in different domains. The objective was to address modern trends in the field of Information Storage and Retrieval with real time problem solving. This FOP focused on hands-on implementation of various techniques to deliver practical skill to participants.

Alumni expert talk sessions conducted for guiding current students on Data Warehouse and business intelligence on 25^th September 2021 on Microsoft team from 11:00 AM to 12 PM. The resource person for this session was Mr. Rahul Shivaji Bagade, Team Lead, Wipro, Pune, IT Alumni from 2012 batch. He emphasis on need of DWH and BI, Goals of Data warehousing, Benefits of BI and DWH, Data warehousing Applications, Main components of Data warehouse architecture, Approaches to build DWH, BI and DWH tools and technologies in demand skills. The session was coordinate by the Dr. K. D. Bamane and Mrs. Dipali Patil, Assistant Professor, Dept of Information Technology,DYPCOE, Akurdi.
Alumni expert talk sessions conducted for the students on Performance Evaluation of Classification Models Using Confusion Matrix to provide opportunity for students to become knowledgeable about the use of confusion matrix in evaluating a classification model on 18^th September 2021 on Microsoft team from 10 AM to 11 AM. WEBINAR

Department of Information Technology have successfully conducted a Webinar on " OPEN SOURCE SOFTWARE DEVELOPMENT WITH GIT AND GITHUB" under IT Engineering Student Association (ITESA) on 31st May 2020 on Google Meet Platform from 4 pm to 6 pm.This Webinar was conducted by Mr. Shreyas Patil, Scale Real Tech Pvt. Ltd.,Pune. Android App Community Developer. HOD Dr. Preeti Patil gave the preamble of the event and presented the welcome note during this Webinar. We are grateful to our Hon. Management for their incredible support. Our sincere gratitude to our respected Principal Dr Vijay M. Wadhai, our Vice Principal Madam Dr. Mrs. P. Malathi for their graceful presence and addressed all our participants. Thank you Mr. Shreyas for your sharing your expertise with our participants. It was truly informative and helpful session for all the participants. PARENT TEACHER MEET

Department of Information Technology had organized Parent teacher meet on 5th June 2020 on Google Meet. Approximately 114 parents had attended meeting. Dr. Preeti Patil, HOD, IT Department addressed parents regarding examinations, commencement & execution of new academic year, precautionary measures taken at college campus during this pandemic period & attended parent queries. Dr. Vijay M. Wadhai, Principal sir had addressed all queries of parents & explained action plan for new academic year. The session was concluded by the coordinator, Ms. Deepali Rane, Assistant Professor, Dept of Information Technology, DYPCOE, Akurdi.

SOCIAL ACTIVITY

Department of Information Technology had organized free Eye checkup camp for all members of Dr. D. Y. Patil Educational Complex, Akurdi including 11 colleges. Team of 7 doctors from Dr. D.Y. Patil Medical College, Hospital & Research Centre Pimpri, Pune were invited for Eye checkup. Mr. Machindra Mahale, a doctor from Dr. D.Y. Patil Medical College, Hospital & Research Centre Pimpri, Pune took ECG test for patients. Dr Vijay Surve from Panav Clinic checked Blood Pressure of staff and Faculties.

TANTROTSAV 2020

Department of Information Technology has organized an event ‘TANTROTSAV 2020’ on 9th February 2020. This event comprised of one activity ‘PICTO CODE HUNT’. In that,Group will be given clues in the form of Images. After collecting all parts of image, they’ll get final clue. Which was taken in two days by the students of third year of the department. Follwing prize money given to winners of ‘PICTO CODE HUNT’:

GADGET GYAN

Department of Information Technology has organized an event "Gadget Gyan 2K19" on 3^rd & 4^th Feb 2020 under Information Technology Engineering Students Association ITESA. This event comprised of three activities Hacktrack, Repairology and Zumba. The hacktrack was conducted by Hackers Era experts in 5 sessions taken in two days. Repairology had 2 fields Laptops and Desktops which was taken by the students of both second and third year of the department. Zumba workshop was taken by Zumba Expert on 4^th Feb.This complete event was coordinated by students. Students from various parts of the city came to participate in this auspicious event and were very positive towards participation. Feedbacks were taken from the participants and majority of the feedbacks were positive.

Details-
1. Repairology: In this workshop the participants were taught how to assemble & deassemble a PC or a Laptop. This workshop was conducted by second & third year students.
2. Hacktrack: In this the participants were given hands on training on two vulnerabilities of hacking i.e. Penetration Testing & Phishing. This workshop was conducted by an expert from HackersEra Mr. Shrirang Diwakar (TE student) & Mr. Nikhil Ahire (BE student).
3. Zumba: Taking into consideration health & fitness & the importance of exercise zumba workshop was conducted by a certified trainer Ms. Shivani from final year.

FACULTY DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM

Department of Information Technology had organized 2 days FDP on "Website Development & SEO" on 24^th Jan 2020 to 25^th Jan 2020. This workshop was conducted by Mr. Swami Panjala, CEO & Founder from Elite Softwares Pvt Ltd, Pune. The workshop was cordinated by Ms. Deepali Rane & Mrs. Parvati Bhadre.

INDUSTRIAL VISIT

Department of Information Technology had organized one day visit at Hackers Era, Hinjewadi on 11th Jan 2020. Total 40 students had participated, who have completed Web Application Penetration Testing under Centre of Excellence in Information Security. Total 4 faculty members- Dr. Preeti Patil, Mr. A.J. Patankar, Mr. K. D. Bamane & Mrs. Soanam Patil have coordinated the overall visit.

SOCIAL ACTIVITY

Department of Information Technology has organized one day social activity at Z P school Kune Nama, Maval on 2^nd August 2019. In this activity PC hardware awareness workshop was conducted along with soft skill session for secondary students of the school. Also planted trees by the students. Activity was coordinated by Mrs. Amita Jajoo and Mr. K. D. Banane along with Mr. A. J. Patankar and Ms. Arti Gaikwad. 40 students from TE and SE participated in this activity. Final Year student Mr. Vaibhav Gaikwad has given helping hand of Rs.10,000 to needy bright students of the school.

FE INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY DEPARTMENT INDUCTION PROGRAM

Department of Information Technology has organized a welcome program for the students of first year on 13/08/2019. Head of Department of Information Technology, Dr. Preeti Patil welcomed all the students of first year. Mrs. Aarti Gaikwad, Academic coordinator addressed the students regarding academics. Mrs. Krutika Bang gave insights regarding placements. Mr. Vaibhav Gaikwad, President of ITESA addressed the students about the department and activities held in the department under ITESA and ISTE.

WORKSHOP

Department of Information Technology @D. Y. Patil College of Engineering, Akurdi had organized 3 days workshop on web application Development for Third Year IT students from 17th July 2019 to 19th July 2019.

This workshop was conducted by Mr. Swami Panjala, CEO & Founder from Elite Softwares Pvt Ltd, Pune under the Software Development Centre (SDC) for Web Applications that is established in association with this company.

AWARENESS PROGRAM

Department of Information Technology @DYPCOE, Akurdi had arranged an awareness program for second year IT students about the functioning and benefits of Information Security Centre of Excellence that is established in association with Hackers Era on 18th July 2019.
